Citizenship Extravaganza starts in February at CUNY Citizenship Now!

Citizenship is our name! In commemoration of our 24th anniversary, we will hold a series of events to help you apply for citizenship this February and March. Through this effort, we want to address the most common misconceptions and obstacles that permanent residents face when applying for citizenship.

Upcoming activities:

  • Facebook Live events about overcoming financial obstacles in applying for citizenship (February 24 in English, March 24, Spanish)
  • Online assistance with your application (by appointment). Priority will be given to citizenship application appointments in February and March.
  • Social media campaign about the myths and facts about applying for citizenship.

Don't wait to apply for citizenship any longer!

Overcoming Financial Obstacles to Apply for Citizenship

Yes, you can apply for citizenship in 2021! Join us for our next Facebook Live on Wednesday, February 24, at 3:00 pm, where we will talk about overcoming financial obstacles to apply for citizenship.

Our attorneys Shawn Rahman and Midori Hills will answer the following questions:

  • What is the cost of applying for citizenship?
  • How can I get a full or partial fee waiver?
  • I am out of work, what are my options? Am I eligible for public benefits?
  • If I receive unemployment benefits, can I get a fee waiver?
  • Can I pay for my citizenship application with a credit card?
  • Are there financial advantages to becoming a U.S. citizen?

Submit your questions live, Shawn and Midori will answer them at the end of the session.
