NEWSFLASH from the NYC Chapter of Women in eDiscovery (membership is free and required to attend our monthly lunches, women who are interested are invited to join at www.womeninediscovery.org).
As a direct result of our members expressed desire for professional development meetings, the NYC Chapter of Women in eDiscovery is pleased to announce that Vera Sullivan will be our sole guest presenter for our monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 20th. Vera has over 30 years experience as a career counselor and coach extraordinaire and has trained over 5,000 attorneys and other professionals from corporations, major New York law firms, non-profit organizations, academia, as well as members of other professional associations. Vera will present an interactive session, which requires all of us to roll up our sleeves to work on our own individual career issues and she will help us achieve measurable goals and an action plan to be carried out by each of us at the end of our session.
Whether you are an attorney at a law firm trying to figure out if you should stay at the firm or go in-house or are currently employed at a corporation and think you might want to switch your area of expertise, or whether you are still looking for a new position as a result of the economy, this presentation will be of value to you.
Bring your own brown bag lunch and be prepared to spend an hour working on your individual career goals.
Vera's career counseling specialties include:
v Turning adversity into an advantage and not allowing a crisis to be wasted.
v Goal setting and identifying priorities
v Self Assessment: identifying strengths and emphasizing the positives
v Devising marketing plans, goal-oriented presentations and interviewing skills
v Evaluating job offers and negotiating compensation packages
v Executive coaching to develop strategies to earn recognition, visibility, promotions and raises.
