Behavioral health is critical to an older adult’s overall well-being. It encompasses a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and behavioral services include treating both mental health conditions as well as substance use disorders. For low-income seniors, Medicare and Medicaid cover an array of behavioral health services.
This webcast will provide an overview of Medicare and Medicaid coverage of behavioral health services. We will discuss challenges for individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid in accessing behavioral health services, like when benefits are “carved out.” We will also provide examples and tips you can use to help your clients get the full spectrum of health care they need.
