FORDHAM SCHOOL OF LAW: Volunteer Lawyers for Veterans Project

The Feerick Center for Social Justice is pleased to announce the launch of a new program:  the Volunteer Lawyers for Veterans Project.  This Project is part of the Center’s AmeriCorps VISTA Program.  We are looking to recruit volunteer attorneys, ideally (but not necessarily) individuals who are either veterans themselves or have ties to the veteran community. To learn more about the volunteer opportunities through the Project please attend our very first CLE Military Cultural Competency Training.

Volunteer opportunities will include:

  • Limited-scope clinics focused on consumer debt, credit reporting, and identity theft issues;
  • Know-Your-Rights presentations regarding consumer debt, credit reporting, and identity theft issues (at a Manhattan-based social service organization); and
  • Limited-scope clinics focused on VA benefits.
