Communication is not what it used to be. “”Hey, I checked you out on Facebook,” “I saw your Tweet,” and “Did you get my email?” have replaced “I’ll call you later.” For those of us in the generation who proudly connected VCRs for our parents, social media is just as foreign as those funny machines. Understanding how this stuff works is one thing; as litigators, however, we have a more challenging task  taking that stuff and putting it in front of factfinders! Long-time NITA instructor Dan Deasy is here to help. Following up on his prior Studio 71 presentations entitled Evidentiary Foundations and Social Media or Faceinstasnaptwitterbookgramchat! Where do the Rules of Evidence come into play? Dan will answer your questions regarding social media, and how to make sure important “communication” not only makes it into your courtroom, but is presented to your factfinder by understanding how your rules of evidence come into play.
