Message from the President
Dear Members,
Did you register to attend the NYCPA Annual Election and General Meeting? There is still time to do it! This is YOUR ASSOCIATION and the Executive Board of Directors is YOUR VOICE in the manner in which the Association is governed. They are YOUR VOICE in the direction that the Association moves forward and are YOUR VOICE in how the Paralegal Profession and each of you are viewed in the Legal Community.
We are looking to hear from our members. Don't miss this annual event!
NYCPA partnered with Lorman Educational Series ("LES"). LES hosts a number of webinars and audio-seminars on a wide range of topics. They also have many bookstore items. Seminars can be attended in real-time or on-demand. All members will receive 15% off from already discounted fees when registered thru members only page on our website.
Walk MS was such a fantastic event this year, and many teams made it that way! This year more than 830 teams participated! Walk MS set an overall fundraising goal of $3,000,000, and it still have $1 million left to raise! Team NYCPA participated in NYC Walk MS and raised $720.00 by April 29th. Here is an update: we raised $790.00 as of today and there is still time to donate! The fundraising deadline is May 31. Thank you to all who donated to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society ("The MS Society"). The MS Society use funds collected from Walk MS to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but to also provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't and because we choose to donate to Walk MS, we are getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
Visit our website to learn more and feel free to forward The Buzz to your colleagues, friends or classmates. Hope to see you at our events!
Sincerely,
Mariana Fradman, MBA
NYCPA President & Mentor Program Chairperson
Member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Paralegal Studies, SCPS, NYU
