Challenges of Collecting from Non-Standard Data Sources

 

Our panelists will discuss handling collections (and preservation) from non-standard data sources, such as Social Media, iPads, Sharepoint, Cloud/external collaboration sites.  Our panelists will share best practices for how and what to identify, what to do now, and what to do when you need to collect as well as the state of tools/techniques They will discusss the role of information security in the e-discovery process as well as how to deal with data on mobile devices.  They will speak about “profiling” the user to determine where they author data, such as iPads, smartphones, email, laptop, cloud services, so that identification of the appropriate custodian is facilitated and that data maps/sources for various users can be established to preserve and collect data from a best practices perspective.
