    Citizenship Test Preparation Classes

    Eight-Week Volunteer Program

    Dear Volunteers,

CUNY Citizenship Now! has a new opportunity for volunteers to continue their involvement with the immigrant community. We are looking for six volunteers who are able to participate in a citizenship preparation class. Volunteers will help students learn and study for the writing, reading, and history portion of the citizenship exam. This is an exciting opportunity for those committed individuals looking to learn more about the citizenship preparation process.

The program will begin this Saturday, January 28th and run to March 31st, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at:

    Langston Hughes
    Community Library & Cultural Center
    100-01 Northern Boulevard
    Corona, NY 11368

Volunteers must be able to attend all eight classes in order to better assist students with the citizenship preparation.

For more information, please call Aura Gomez at 646-285-4248 or e-mail at aura.gomez@mail.cuny.edu

Presented by Toni Marsh, Esq., Director of The George Washington University Paralegal Studies Program

Paralegals know that properly utilized, they can make any law firm, law department, or government agency more effective and efficient. Paralegals know that their professional lives are more fulfilling when they perform substantive work and can contribute to their fullest potential.

But many attorneys don’t know they can be using their paralegals more effectively than they are and that if they do, everyone benefits.

This presentation shows paralegals how to make this case to their lawyers: WHO their paralegals really are, WHAT they know and WHAT they can do, WHY they should be using more paralegals to do more substantive work, and HOW to do it right.
