Vera Sullivan, M.A., has worked in the legal industry for 35 years, specializing in career and outplacement counseling, diversity recruiting, and business development coaching.
Vera recently launched and self published her new book FROM WISHING TO REALITY: HOW TO USE THE HOURGLASS PRINCIPLE™ TO DEFINE YOUR CAREER GOALS. It is a means to engage and inspire everyone to have a more satisfying and rewarding career. It can activate career dreams and goals.
Vera’s work is nationally known and she has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s New York, Black Enterprise, Diversity and the Bar, the Daily Report, and has appeared on Bloomberg Financial News.
In 2008 Vera founded Diversityforce LLC dedicated to advancing the careers of diversity professionals, especially attorneys, after working as a Director of In-house Placement & Diversity Recruiter at a New York legal search firm.
Previously, Vera founded Vera Sullivan Associates, a firm specializing in career and outplacement counseling and business development coaching for attorneys.
During her career, Vera has counseled and coached over 5,000 attorneys and other professionals from corporations, marquee New York law firms, non-profit organizations, academia, and professional associations, including the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, The New York County Lawyers Association, The Minority Corporate Counsel Association, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, The New York City Paralegal Association, Women in eDiscovery, the Association of Black Women Attorneys and The National Association of Law Placement.
Vera earned her M.A. in Counseling from New York University in 1977 and her B.A. from Hunter College. Vera also served as the Director of Career Counseling and Placement at New York Law School following graduate school.
